MongoDB as a service must release the software it uses to offer such service under the terms of the SSPL, including the management software, user interfaces, application program interfaces, automation software, monitoring software, backup software, storage software and hosting software, all such that a user could run an instance of the service using the source code made available.
I don't quiet get this. When they say 'application program interfaces' are they talking about tools built to manage mongoDB or do they mean any arbitrary web app that uses mongoDB as a database?

@Karlitschek @ricardojmendez @0 I'm more of a Free Software person than an Open Source one. If I need to worry about the freedom 0, then something's wrong.

@ricardojmendez @Karlitschek @0 For sure it doesn't feel fair when organizations with lots of resources use your work for their agenda without giving back. But as @0 has pointed out, you've got to learn to live with that.
I'm at the point now that I'm thinking we should rewrite a project we've just finished to avoid a turbulent future.
