   There isn't any onboarding for non-tech people, so you may want to ask a techy friend for help.

     Note that it may not be possible to jailbreak all Kindles, and even when possible it may be difficult.

     You might be better off getting a non-Kindle device.

     Kindles tend to be locked down and hostile to libre stuff, so you might be better off getting a non-Kindle device.

     I did a quick search and found this libre firmware, but it's only for Kobos:
