Pocket was bought by Mozilla two years ago but, and they claimed they would open source it, but for some unknown reason they have never done so.
There is a git page for Pocket but it doesn't cover the core of the service.
It's better for privacy to use free open projects. If Mozilla could make Pocket free and open then I would be glad to recommend it.
