I find this trend over the last several years deeply disturbing where people are co-opting Liberalism and injecting the values of Political Correctness and other fringe social movements and trying to uphold that as the party's values.

No, Liberal values are many things but they're not that. Free speech is extremely important, which means censorship and Political Correctness is not compatible.
