👏 Exactly.
...and this is from an insider who knows as much about Facebook as anyone.
Social media is a grave threat to the world if it continues to be misued like this. It is corroding our ability to see things rationally, and making it easier to manipulate people.

Mastodon doesn't carry ads or use algo or sell user data or depend on "engagement".
The main problem with Facebook is that it does all these things.

Sure, and in some ways all social media is somewhat dangerous, but some are more dangerous than others.
Nothing is perfect, but we always have better options (and sometimes they are MUCH better options).
