The fall and winter the last few years have been hell on my Subaru. I don't know the cause, and I don't intend on spending a penny to find out. I've had the engine rebuilt by a friend a couple years ago -- all new seals and gaskets, ready to go. It's only at about 150k miles and when it starts getting moist or cold outside it runs rough, idles rough, sometimes behaves like it's misfiring or having compression issues.
Yes I can pull the codes, I've talked to everyone worth talking to. Fixing this is going to be a nontrivial amount of money and this is just a glorified dog kennel on wheels and a backup vehicle for when my wife is at work with my Tesla.
So I guess I'll be acquiring a used Nissan Leaf sometime in the near future. Give me about 80 miles of range and I'll be happy. I don't need any more than that, honestly.
