     Yea on archlinux at least i3-gaps is what is installed when you install i3 group.

     @pschwede The thing i love about both qtile and i3 is that they are BOTH tiling and stacking (the normal kind).. So you get the best of both worlds.

     I usually keep it in tiling mode but you can click and drag and resize too. In qtile that is called a "floating" window.

     Looks like my stort of style. but I think im happy leaving it at qtile and i3 (spent enough time playing with this).. Plus while qtile is my favorite i3 is the most popular so I feel I've covered my bases with those two choices.

     @pschwede KDE4 can do a lot and if you just want something to work with every feature known to man without any need to ever touch a console, KDE has your back.

     I personally find KDE way too slow and obnoxious in terms of its aesthetics. Plus I love tiling managers because it means I rarely need to touch the mouse for most of what I do.

     I actually was really surprised to find how obscure qtile was particularly along side i3. For me qtile keeps winning when i compare the two. The only advantage of i3 is there are more example configurations to steal from, assuming you can even get someone elses configuration working :)

     How much i enjoy it will basically boil down to how easy it is to get it looking nice, and how far i can take that.
