Boomers used to get offered jobs with better pay and benefits while on their lunch breaks.

If the job market was that amazing and unemployment truly a record low, wouldn't companies be competing for labor by fighting over who can give the best pay and benefits to attract applicants? Or have most Americans become wage slaves to a capitalism not held responsible for its rampant abuse of the American public?
