I'm going to take a wild guess here, but I suspect Apple needs China more than China needs Apple
So if Apple doesn't bend the fuck over, they're going to lose their manufacturing resources and that will lead to their stock dropping like a rock and investors shidding and fardding all over the boardrooms
Maybe we should fix this country so it's possible to make things in America again :thunk:
-
@jeff lol that is not what Trump is doing at all.
-
@jeff let me clarify: I did not say JOBS in my post. Intentionally.
We do not need to bring back manufacturing jobs to the USA. Our cost of living is too high. It's not possible in most industries for this to work. Nobody would be able to afford the end product.
We need things like UBI because of automation. We need more social safety nets, and to strengthen the ones we have.
We need to make sure people have access to education and healthcare. No out of pocket costs.
We need the next generation to not be doing busywork, but to be actually creating and inventing things that empower this country.
Sending people back into the mines or firing back up Detroit is NOT how we fix this country or this economy.
All of those displaced people? They know how to turn a wrench. We need them to get into the trades *immediately* so we can fix our infrastructure and build out everything we need to modernize this country.
This is what would make America great. Not going back to the industrial revolution.

@jeff the reason why American politicians/presidents have been unable to deliver on the ideals they were elected on for the past 20 years is because of Newt Gingrich. If you knew anything about modern American politics you'd know what he did.
-
@jeff It's not the other party, it's *Newt* and Newt alone. He's an evil fuck who weasled his way into destroying our ability to have any bipartisanship.
-
@jeff Trump has not done anything he said he would do, and his loudest cheerleader Ann Coulter has even turned on him

@jeff The Democrats have been full of cowards for roughly 20 years as well, I agree.
But look what we have now? Look how many fresh faces, diversity, empowered people who finally realized "this isn't just a good ol' boys club anymore"? That with the power of the internet we can take away seats from incumbents who are doing nothing.
This is the beginning of a revolution, and I hope Bernie clinches the nomination simply because he's the one who has empowered this movement, gave us the momentum to overtake the house, and has himself been honest to his values and ideals his whole career.
And truthfully, I don't care about his health conditions. FDR was in a wheelchair. Bernie can die in office and we'll still be dancing in the streets over what he's done.

@jeff @kaniini Bernie would have
-
@kaniini @jeff Jeff, I want you to know that I'm voting to lift people up -- including you -- not to hurt anyone. (Except billionaires).
We're on the same side, but only one party actually cares about people who aren't campaign donors. I hope you can see this.
Trump is and always will be a con man. The entire Republican party at this point should be scaring the shit out of you. They're willing to throw away a democracy because they think this guy can violate laws and procedures, speak like an emperor, and get away with it now.
The Republicans will always tell you their way is the fair way, and you'll someday achieve the "American Dream" or be a millionaire yourself. But that twinkle in their eye is because they're lying and always have been. They just need you to bite so they can keep their riches.
-
@jeff @kaniini No it's not. Communist China will always be more united than America can ever be. And they will burn the world down with them.
Do not fuck with China without careful planning.
-
@jeff @kaniini The party is the people. All you have to do is join us and outnumber them.
If you live in a district with a shitty rep and you're this deep into politics, RUN AGAINST THEM and win!
Jeff, I would vote for you if you ran as a Dem. Because you're from our generation. You get this. You know what we need.
