I have to admit, Spacemacs is exactly what I needed to get into vim/emacs. Its so damn sexy!

1) the emacs hotkeys are nonsensical/non intuitive
2) much more hassle to configure or get working if you want to use a lot of plugins and customizations
3) Not nearly as pretty as spacemacs.

Not to mention the way spacemacs pops up the hot keys as you type them out is amazing and self-documenting in a way you dont seem to get with either vim or emacs.
I tried vim and emacs before settling on spacemacs. I dunno to each their own but I cant imagine why anyone would pick vanilla emacs over spacemacs personally
