     sure, "2.8k active users in the past 14 days" has some nice sounding numbers in it, but it doesn't reveal any useful information without post-processing.
     
     d.a.u. is useful because it tells me something actionable: i'm not going to hang out on your site for 14 days; i might visit once to start with, and i want to know how much activity i can expect to see.
     
     if 233 d.a.u. is too low for you, do something about it. spinning the numbers only makes you look like an idiot.
