@pluralistic I think the problem is those big corporations related to technology that provide non-technological services through their centralized control and yet don't really own the physical parts (e.g.: #Airbnb tends to centralize rents and hosting from all over the world into their website but yet own only one building). These business make work relations precarious, take money from every country, require non-free software, aren't federated and don't speak open standards.
