   I don't think the sign in thing is an error, it's just that your session finished (they do roughly every hour), so any action (post, repeat, fave) would have got the same result.
   
   Please, provide the link of the notice here in gnusocial.net. The second screenshot, btw, shows an attempt to subscribe to that account, not of repeating a notice...

     I'm gonna be out till tomorrow, so i'll write this just in case: if you want to follow that user, try "sullybiker @ sully.site" (without the spaces) and it should work fine.
     Regardless this, you should be able to repeat or favourite any post you see in gnusocial.net, and it doesn't matter if you are following that account or not.

     Yes, if I try to repeat that notice, I get the same behaviour than you. Honestly, I had never thought about this... I guess that, as you are not logged in sully.site, when you try to repeat that notice, Mastodon "advices" you to follow that account so you are able to repeat/fav that notice from your own server (gnusocial.net). Does it makes sense?
