   @odesa I've been meaning to look into Solana. What makes it achieve this high throughout?

   This is my first question for all blockchains claiming to be more scalable than Bitcoin: do nodes have to download the entire transaction history in order to verify new transactions? If the answer is yes, then they can only be marginally better, but not the 2-3 orders of magnitude better that we really want.
