I don't believe OPL3 is actually being seriously taken advantage of besides the channels and stereo. But the instruments are pretty nice.

I'd really love to hear a wavetable synthesis version of this though. I bet something like the MT-32 or SC55 could make it really amazing. They had really good synthy sounds that suit a song like this IMO. (Well, MT-32 isn't actually wavetable, but I dunno what to call it in this respect.)
