First time in ER after the mark of ten years in the US.

I am very appreciative of the staff making it less stressful for me.

When I see something incredibly nice in the US (like the above ER experience) I feel sad instead of enjoying :-(

Respect and good care, especially at the time of stress, is a really basic human need. I wish all people in the world could have it including my people in Iran.

I've been to ER many times in the past ten years in Iran. The staff get overworked. Patients end up lying on the lobby seats to be attended. It's chaotic.

Yesterday, I got a full room with TV. Staff took their time and had a normal work.
I hope for a world with better wealth distribution.

@Maryam If that was in the US, many people who live in the area wouldn't go to the ER when they need it for fear of getting a surprise bill they couldn't afford to pay 😞

Prices of procedures and exams are rarely disclosed ahead of time, and vary depending on the combination of insurance, hospital and even the doctor who visited you (this actually happened to me at El Camino Hospital because their ER used out-of-network doctors during the weekend).
