Almost had an accident today. In the middle of the road my bike's fender decided to break, blocking my front wheel instantly. I'm okay, but certain manly parts have hit the bike frame. Was not too far from home, so I fixed it with some rope and brought the bike to the shop walking. Even at 15 kilometres per hour this is a big scare, but this time it turned out ok

The bag swung and a metal can got stuck between the spokes. The front wheel blocked instantly and the bike flipped over.
I was going slowly and I was wearing a bike helmet, but I hit the chin on the concrete and almost broke my front teeth. I had a big cut on the jaw that required a couple of stitches.
So, yeah, blocking the front wheel is VERY BAD.

I agree with you regarding not blocking the front wheel.
The other lesson of the story is to not buy can food ;-)
