     @tammiii Are you launching the session from a vt or from sddm, gdm?

     Have you tried running kwin_wayland alone?

     To debug the X11 server or a Wayland compositor, I usually ssh in from another machine and run the damn thing under gdb.

     @codewiz uhh i get a blackscreen whenever i try to launch my Wayland session. And i can't switch to TTY. Im on a very recent KDE Plasma release.

     How do I debug this?

     @tammiii To confirm or exclude the user profile theory, just create a new user on your system. I keep around a clean user for this very reason.

     Nowadays our home dirs are filled with so much stateful junk that it's no better than the Windows registry.

     @codewiz i use sddm to launch the session. I can run kwin_wayland in a X11 window and launch Kwrite in it.

     My current guess is that it's a problem with my user profile.
     Gdb via SSH sounds like a good idea. I'll see if it lets me.
