    One thing I don't like about the new Firefox (91.4.1esr just arrived to Debian stable) is that it doesn't display the X to close not active tabs while mouse-hovering it. You must either click on it to make them active, or right-click and click on ‘close tab’. That's two more clicks.

    Also, "one-click searches" are not one-click any more, you must click and then hit enter.

    Why? I don't get it... We don't need more clicks and hits.

      @tagomago Just use middle click? I never use the X mark.

      @benoit Thanks Ben, didn't know/remember that one. 🙇

      I must add, this only happens if a certain number of tabs are open (depending on the screen width, I reckon). Feels like a less usable design, anyway... I believe this was also changed in Chromium, so it must be some trend.

      @benoit Nevertheless, the X only was displayed while hovering the cursor over the tab, so it didn't steal any extra space...

      Also, I don't get why they stripped all the icons from the drop-down menu, but they were kept in the settings sidebar. 🤷♂️

      @tagomago Yes same in Chrom*, it is a matter of gaining some space for all these tabs...

      More Firefox stupidity. Now the tab switching cycle (CTRL+Tab) doesn't display the tab thumbnails, so you can't see the tab before activating it. This is (apparently) because they removed the "last used tab" behavior, so it's basically the same as CTRL+Page Up/Down. Very silly.

      Fuck me, I’m the stupid. I only needed to check this again. But why was that setting unset after the upgrade? 😤 :pensive_party_blob:
