Doug Webb (douginamug@mastodon.xyz)'s status on Thursday, 23-Dec-2021 08:32:11 UTC Doug Webb The effect of group size of group dynamic is a perennial fascination of mine.
In particular, why as groups get bigger are the dishes less likely to be washed?
One aspect is that it is harder to monitor/sanction as people become more anonymous in big groups.
Another perspective is gratitude exhaustion. It seems out ability to feel empathy is limited ('suffering of one a tragedy, of millions, a statistic') and perhaps we simply feel less grateful when a 'mass' is responsible for good things.
