   @nytpu @drwho @theruran right, my uncle repairs his tractors and always has. he purposely buys peoples’ old ones so he has spare parts for his. he also welds his own custom mods for his to serve his use cases. fuckin boss tbh. but big corps don’t care abt people like him (and never will) cuz they aren’t making money from him :)

     @drwho I think this is equivalent to saying “it's okay that john deere makes tractors impossible to repair because no one repairs tractors themselves anyways.” Sure 99% of people (including myself) don't even have a tractor, let alone are affected by having to repair one. Tthat doesn't mean there aren't people who do have tractors that need repairs. And of the people that do have tractors, even if most farmers bring their tractors into the shop for repairs that doesn't mean that the ones who want to shouldn't be able to repair them themselves.
