Fascinating inside story about a surveillance contractor. TL;DR: if you're using iCloud, Google, Facebook, WhatsApp, and other cloudy apps then E2EE is pointless. They have all your data either directly or in backups and getting to it is trivial for law enforcement. And of course for the data hoarders themselves.
