Bernie (codewiz@mstdn.io)'s status on Monday, 28-Feb-2022 02:11:53 UTC Bernie @Suiseiseki I wish #LineageOS the best, but last time I checked, it was tragically outdated and thus an even bigger security risk than OxygenOS...

If you want updates, install LineageOS (a lot of OnePlus devices are supported, so yours probably is): https://download.lineageos.org/bacon (note that LineageOS ships with a lot of proprietary malware without mentioning it - albeit much less than a typical OEM's version of Android). -
Bernie (codewiz@mstdn.io)'s status on Monday, 28-Feb-2022 02:14:32 UTC Bernie @Suiseiseki I checked again, the and the last official update is LineageOS 18.1, announced on April 2021:

Bernie (codewiz@mstdn.io)'s status on Monday, 28-Feb-2022 02:15:52 UTC Bernie @Suiseiseki I got a closer look, and there's also a nightly build of 18.1 which seems to include recent changes, including (unembargoed) security updates:
https://download.lineageos.org/lemonade/changes/Is this what most LineageOS users would run on their primary device?

Bernie (codewiz@mstdn.io)'s status on Monday, 28-Feb-2022 02:27:40 UTC Bernie @benoit It's not clear to me that LineageOS will magically make things smoother (unless of course you turn off features or install fewer apps).
