I really like the idea of calling dark patterns -> deceptive design. Because that is what they really are. Most of these tricks are done out in the open to manipulate us into taking some action on an app or website. They are also not limited to a few shady companies. Everyone is doing it! (I'm looking at you TurboTax.)

And while we're at it, we should call those networks that promote disinformation (Facebook, etc.) as deception platforms. They willingly aid the spread of propaganda for profit.
