   Installing your own web server on a VPS and managing it via a web interface (say, for something like a fediverse node) *should* be absurdly easy. It should be just as easy as buying an "app".

   I think my generation really let the next generation down by either rallying around centralized services or gatekeeping around CLI Unix arcana, with no middle ground.

   I'm sorry for every time I made fun of phpMyAdmin. I should've been working to make something better instead.

     @brion I believe it could be like installing a WordPress.org, at least. Then again you have Yunohost, which basically does that, but I believe having a server right now is too extreme for regular Joes.
