the instant oatmeal I made for camping is excessively good, I may stop doing it on the stovetop entirely? feels wrong but also, wow not having to clean the saucepan

- 1 tbsp dry milk powder
- a spoonful of flax seeds
- a spoonful of pumpkin seeds
- a spoonful or two of blackcurrants (or whatever dried fruit)
- a pinch of salt
- a pinch of nutmeg
- a couple dashes of cinnamon -
Tagomago (tagomago@mastodon.social)'s status on Friday, 22-Apr-2022 08:51:49 UTC Tagomago @tripofmice I was using cinnamon already. Added those nutmeg, salt, and pumpkin seeds to mine and they resulted in a surprising improvement. Specially the nutmeg, my palate suspects...
Looking forward to substituting the chia seeds I'm running out of with flax seeds. :perfect: -

OTOH, I confirmed that they need to be ground or crushed in order to digest their nutrients (basically the omegas I'm interested in). Otherwise they just come out like they entered due to the toughness of their shell. In contrast with the chias, which don't need to be ground or even crushed. They dissolve naturally in the tummy. I'm lazy, so I'll go back to them... 😁
Anyway, thanks for the rad oatmeal hacks!
