jansegers (jansegers@mastodon.social)'s status on Sunday, 26-Feb-2017 19:20:40 UTC jansegers @aurochs did you know that some people would prefer French spelling of aurochs to be simplified into auroch. It isn't officially part of the 1990 rectifications de l'orthographe, but like no-one cares to read the official text, many believe it's in there anyway...
Aurochs repeated this. -
Aurochs (aurochs@quitter.is)'s status on Sunday, 26-Feb-2017 19:23:42 UTC Aurochs @jansegers I had absolutely no idea. Years ago I thougth the right spelling was "auroch" (actually because of a Asterix comic) but years later I reallised the right spelling was "aurochs". MU! -
Aurochs (aurochs@quitter.is)'s status on Sunday, 26-Feb-2017 19:27:45 UTC Aurochs @jansegers I just realised I misspelled "realised". I wrote "reallised" instead of realised or realized. This is really hard. -

Aurochs (aurochs@quitter.is)'s status on Tuesday, 28-Feb-2017 19:21:16 UTC Aurochs @jansegers Ok! as @thefaico mentioned in spanish we call them uro, from latin "urus". But, the latin word comes, apparently, from germanic "auer", which is close to dutch oeros! -
