     @JarlavGrenlandUpir I'm signed out of Twitter and Facebook so often when I land on their pages (a good thing) and it pains me so much that they only let you scroll about three tweets before hiding the whole page behind a "Sign up to see more" message.

     @matt @JarlavGrenlandUpir For gigs there was this thing... Bandsintown, and also Songkick. Anyway, I just subscribe via RSS to local webs that publish that kind of info. There's always something you're gonna miss, but most of the times friends let u know about those.

     @tagomago @JarlavGrenlandUpir It's usually just for events, tbh. Or when I want to look up a band who might have posted an update on FB.

     Events are the worst because lots of companies / bands / whatever still use Facebook to list events. There's so much you miss out on if you don't see the FB event.

     I wish there was a good alternative. Upcoming.org was great back in the day before Yahoo! bought it and closed it down.

     It's been rebooted by the founder, but requires Twitter login.
