   So I was today years old when I learned that VGA and SVGA versions of Battle Chess 4000 were actually separate physical releases. 😮 #DOSGaming

     @dHJ1c3Qgbm8gb25l @dosnostalgic many games could autodetect the grpahics mode, e.g. Maniac Mansion, but that one had hotkeys to switch to a different mode on the fly (Shift-C for CGA, Shift-E for EGA and so on).

     @root42 @dosnostalgic I remember having to choose your video mode before a game...and the penalty was real if you chose poorly.
