Apparently, the rules are:

If a cop confronts you...

* If you fear for your life, you'll get shot.

* If your dog fears for their life, they'll get shot.

* If the cop fears for their life, you and your dog will get shot.

If there's a school shooting:

* If the cop fears for their life, the mass child murderer doesn't get shot.
