I really enjoy mentoring others. I also enjoyed being a boss (for the most part). I am one of those individuals who feels comfortable making decisions (for work at least). You'd be surprised how many managers/leaders are indecisive and frustrate the process for others. Maybe I am just confident about what I know/don't know and not afraid to make a mistake. I also find it comforting that many of the top CEOs are introverts. This is probably because reflection is more important than sociability.

Imogen (imgn@mastodon.social)'s status on Monday, 27-Jun-2022 19:54:16 UTC Imogen I once had an advisor tell me I had steel balls. He meant this as a compliment, but I can assure you I don't have testicles, steel or otherwise. Nonetheless, you get kicked between the legs a lot in leadership positions. The kicks that always catch me off guard are from people I've helped or who claim to be allies. This happens often, yet it remains my blind spot. It just always surprises me that people think this is the best way to get ahead. It's a cruel world if you don't play by these rules.
