@olamundo @atomicpoet Perhaps it's *too* indy for most artists, but I subscribed to SoundCloud because it's the only place where I can find all a good selection of C64 and Amiga remixes, chiptunes, demoscene music, videogame themes, synth, space, etc.

The mobile app is also great. I no longer need any other streaming services.

@atomicpoet I've heard from independent artists that when they moved to Bandcamp their income went from effectively $0 to a low hundreds.

Spotify® is an abuse to the composers and to the listeners, locked in their plataform and can't even own the music.

It only pays out for people with millions of hears/plays.

I completely understand why artists would remove their music from Spotify.

According to Spotify's own stats, I was the first to ever hear the album "Dreams Made of Paper" in its entirety.

How much did Arbol get compensated for the listen?

      $.007

      That's not a typo.

I tried to spread the good word about this great album, and a couple of people liked my music review, but I doubt I moved the needle.

An album is a big chunk of someone's life—Spotify's compensation structure is an insult.

      Never trust streaming music services.

At the beginning of the week, Arbol's album "Dreams Made of Paper" was available on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music—all streaming services.

Now it's been completely removed from all of them.

Which is a damn shame because that album is one of the best electronic albums I've ever heard. I even said so when I reviewed it at the beginning of the week.

I'm buying the CD anyway—then ripping it.

But now YOU can't hear it unless you own a physical copy.
