   I give it a year tops before the site is dead as a door nail.

     It’s basically on course to be Gab 2.0 and given how horrible cybersecurity measures are when the right do anything in tech, I’d strongly advise anyone still frequenting Twitter to activate 2FA as soon as you possibly can.

     And while it’s easy to see why people get so anxious when waves of people born of a Twitter exodus arrive here to the Fediverse, I’m not sure we’re actually being clear as to the reasons why.

     One of the reasons, for me, is Twitter is a place that was the setting for some of the most traumatic shit a lot of us endured in our [social] lives. Anything that reminds us of that hellsite is going to set off a traumatic response.

     That said, we cannot allow such a response to bias the newbies.
