   I have seen a couple of users on other instances who have a "Translate" link at the bottom of their posts. When I click on it, it translates their posts into English for me using DeepL. Is it possible to do something like this on this instance?

   (I'm not a tech person, so I really don't understand anything in the above link, so forgive me if I misunderstood what it's talking about.)

     @Scott you can write the complete webfinger handle in the search box and the instance will fetch the remote account

     Here's an account that I mean:

     sanderturnhout at mastodon dot green

     But it seems like our instance may not be federating completely with his instance. I can see his profile and posts just fine on my Mastodon dot Social account, but not on this one.

     Yes, I searched for his account that way, too ("webfinger handle" is a new term for me). But his remote account doesn't show the Translate link on his posts. It only shows up for me using the Mastodon interface with my Masstodon dot Social account.

     Are you able to see his posts? Do you see what I mean about the Translate link and how it works?

     Here are some more interesting things:

     - I can't see his Translate link if I use Tusky (which is the app I use for my Mastodon dot Social account)

     - I can't see any of his posts if I use Fedilab (which is the app I use for this account)

     I'll stop now. This is getting beyond my pay grade. I hope this all makes sense to you. 😀

     @Scott Some apps support many functions of Mastodon but not all of them, i'm not sure which ones. If i make any progress on the language plugin, i'll let you know. Rigth now the network is pretty collapsed and our server is waiting for others to process connections.

     Apparently, Mastodon v4.0.0rc1 will have support for translation. Maybe that means some servers are already running it and that's why I saw it on only a few accounts.
