Si usas Firefox en Android habrás notado que a diferencia del escritorio, la versión móvil hace tiempo que no recibe ninguna novedad interesante. Para ello tendrás que esperar al lanzamiento de "Fenix", una nueva versión del navegador de la que ahora podemos ver algunas imágenes. Imágenes que además nos muestran un nuevo logo de Firefox.

Estás imágenes no son finales sino que representan la dirección que está tomando el proyecto hasta ahora. Menús, barras de direcciones, acceso rápido, marcadores, pantalla de inicio y demás elementos tienen un rediseño y reajuste significativo que luce bastante bien. Y ese nuevo logo ni siquiera está entre aquellas opciones que Mozilla presentó a mediados de año preguntando la opinión de la comunidad.

@theru @catalina Awesome! Next step is to replace #Tux from #Linux with #Freedo from #Linux-libre (or just paint the first in light blue, adding a brush and towel); and #Firefox with #GNU #IceCat. I suggested so because #Linux and #Firefox are not #FreeSoftware.

and in the end you need to #trust the browser anyway, don't you? i mean, how can you make sure they are not collecting all the data in the background, whether or not you enabled sync..?

that's why i'm not using #chrome - they are for sure collecting everything there is to collect...

for #firefox i'm at least not sure ;-)

i'm using #orfox and #fossbrowser, which however do not support sync.
there is no pure #firefox in the @fdroidorg repository (and #google #play #store is not an option). just tried #icecat but cannot sign in to sync (probably related to https://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?50960)

just setup a private #firefox #sync server. pretty straight forward... :firefox:

1. build a #docker image from https://github.com/mozilla-services/syncserver
2. #deploy it somewhere
3. configure identity.sync.tokenserver.uri in #about:config to point to your new location
4. login at `about:preferences#sync` (you still need a #mozilla account, unless you also run a private account server)
5. sync and check about:sync-log for #error|s

#Librefox, una modificación de #Firefox con mejoras en #privacidad y #seguridad

2018 ha sido un año donde la máxima de "la privacidad es una ilusión" ha cobrado más sentido que nunca, por la cantidad de brechas de seguridad de las que se ha informado y por los escándalos de uso de datos que compañías como Facebook han protagonizado. Aun así, no parece ser un asunto que preocupe mucho a la mayoría de usuarios (algo contrastable viendo las contraseñas más usadas del año), pero para aquellos que sí lo hagan, creaciones como Librefox son una gran ayuda.

Librefox es un proyecto de código abierto basado en Firefox destinado a aquellos para que las medidas de seguridad de las últimas versiones de lo último de Mozilla no son suficientes. Firefox se puede configurar y personalizar para lograr prácticamente el mismo grado de protección que ofrece su alternativa, pero la comodidad que Librefox ofrece por defecto no es posible igualarla para usuarios no tan avanzados.

(0 means "Do nothing", 1 means "Scroll contents", 2 means "Go back or forward in the history", 3 means "Zoom in or out the contents")
