ℹ️ As you probably have heard, Meta (#Facebook, #Instagram, #WhatsApp) wants to join the :fediverse: #fediverse with a new project code named #Project92 and possibly named #Threads (https://www.theverge.com/2023/6/8/23754304/instagram-meta-twitter-competitor-threads-activitypub).

There are a lot of worries that it will overtake and pollute the fediverse (incl. Mastodon). There is even a lobby started that wants to coordinate to block Meta en masse. Others say that it's a great opportunity for Mastodon and the fediverse to have more users, content and publicity.

What about todon.eu and todon.nl I hear you ask. I like to poll the todon.* community about what to do with Meta when we have more facts, so when we can make an informed decision.

The only measure in which this news can be viewed positively is that the decision confirms the #Fediverse as a threat to the social silos. Let's keep it this way. Do not trust #Facebook. Do not forget that just last week #Instagram tried to block the #joinPixelfed tag <https://mastodon.social/@pixelfed/110338112401101688>, lest people became aware of the existence of the world outside, a world that still has the appeal of early-days IG, and not subject to the threat of enshittification.

#Instagram es otra red social que está en proceso de autodestrucción. Tiene el algoritmo tan tocado para que sólo importen los Reels que las visualizaciones de fotos normales han bajado en picado.

Ya tengo más visualizaciones y likes en #Vero, que siempre ha sido también una red social bastante secundaria y olvidada. Lo malo de Vero es que se centra en fotógrafos profesionales y claro, yo voy ahí con mi mierdecillas de fotos sacadas con el móvil xD

En resumen, se trata de una alternativa a #Instagram con una interfaz bastante similar y, por supuesto, respetuosa con la privacidad. Como ya no le estaba dando tanto uso a mi cuenta en el feudo de Zuckerberg, pero tenía una Canon y estaba haciendo fotos con más ganas, me abrí una cuenta en @pixelfed para usarla de repositorio:

En particular no soy fotógrafo profesional, pero amo las potencialidades poéticas de la fotografía, lo que dice y puede decir. De ahí que hallen en mi cuenta una variedad de estilos y manchas. Las publico de tres en tres cuando me acuerdo.
