Acá comparto algunos resultados del análisis de las instancias de mastodon extraídas de https://instances.social/list/old
Se grafica nuestra instancia (mastodon.uy) en comparación con otras 4 instancias que representan casos típicos (instancias mono-usuario, instancias pequeñas, medianas y grandes)
1- [superior-izquierda]: Histograma de puntaje general de la instancia. Se compara con una distribución gaussiana de igual media y desviación. La distribución del puntaje es desconocida.
2- [superior-derecha]: Fediverso visible o accesible, en función del número de usuarios de la instancia.
3- [inferior-izquierda]: Centralización de la instancia vs actividad media de los usuarios.
4- [inferior-derecha]: Fediverso visible vs actividad media de los usuarios.
Algunas conclusiones:
1) A mayor número de usuarios, el fediverso accesible es mayor, como regla general. Instancias pequeñas o mono usuarios, pueden tener fediversos muy acotados. Un sesgo presente es la edad de la instancia, dato no disponible.
2) Las instancias más pequeñas, presentan una dispersión mayor en la actividad media de los usuarios, en comparación con las instancias fuertemente centralizadas. Usuarios más y menos activos parecerían estar en instancias pequeñas y usuarios medios, en las más centralizadas. Un sesgo presente, son las instancias abandonadas y sin actividad.
3) Las instancias con los usuarios más activos (mayor actividad media), presentan un fediverso visible mayor y más definido, mientras que las instancias con usuarios menos activos, lay mayor dispersión hacia fediversos más acotados. El mecanismo para explicar esto, podría ser una mayor tasa de retoot en usuarios más activos.

Here I share some results of my analysis of the mastodon instances data extracted from https://instances.social/list/old
Our instance (mastodon.uy) is plotted in comparison with 4 other instances that represent typical cases (single-user instances, small, medium and large instances)
1- [upper-left]: Histogram of the general score of the instance. It is compared with a Gaussian distribution of equal mean and deviation. The distribution of instance score is unknown.
2- [upper-right]: Visible fediverse vs the number of users of the instance.
3- [lower-left]: Centralization of the instance vs average user activity.
4- [bottom-right]: Visible fediverse vs average user activity.
Some conclusions:
1) The greater the number of users, the greater the accessible fediverse, as a general rule. Small instances or single users may have very limited fediverses. A present bias is the age of the instance, data not available.
2) The smaller instances present a greater dispersion in the average activity of the users, in comparison with the strongly centralized instances. Most and least active users would seem to be in small instances and average users, in the most centralized ones. A present bias is the abandoned and inactive instances.
3) The instances with the most active users (higher average activity) present a larger and more defined visible fediverse, while the instances with less active users show greater dispersion towards more limited fediverse. The mechanism to explain this could be a higher reboot rate in more active users.

We have advanced search and will most likely have a relay and a hidden service at some point.
