no, it can't because #ipfs tries to perpetuate the lie of intellectual property in order to get buy-in from corporate interests

nothing new, really. i want it to be compatible with mainline DHT so i can pin my smut and other entertainment to my system, but they have to be all pro-IP about it and build a separate system to appease the corporate interests they want buy-in from.

@light_rook so #ipfs is like #bittorrent, but without any teeth like, protocol labs is specifically trying to prevent it from growing teeth. none of the tech is actually novel, the interfaces are nice, but you can do all of the same shit with libtorrent. they decided to NIH so they could go around with their corporate pandering and pro-IP policies to get people to use their #bittorrent clone instead of contributing to the #bittorrrent ecosystem.
