I calculated for the first time how much tax etc. I pay here in #japan on my monthly wages: it's around 30%.
Decent health insurance is in there, also all else you would expect.. but for example sending children to school here is more expensive than in Germany.

I learned that there was actually a bus drivers strike in #Japan, some time ago.
The buses kept running. Why would they not? The passengers were not the ones who the bus drivers wanted to rethink their strategy.. but the owners. So the buses were running, just no fee was collected from the passengers.
