    Cómo crear una instancia de #PeerTube - ochobitshacenunbyte

    En la entrada de hoy os voy a relatar mi experiencia creando una instancia de PeerTube, una alternativa desde el software libre, a productos privativos de transmisión de vídeo como Youtube. No sé si el nodo, una vez instalado y configurado, estará disponible más allá de la creación de esta entrada, eso el tiempo lo dirá, pero empecemos por el principio.

    @lunovox @gn21 Para deixar claro, o adminsitrador de uma instância #Mastodon tem como moderar a lista de instância com as quais vai federar, similar ao que os administradores de uma instância #PeerTube podem fazer.

    Não sei se isso faz parte do padrão #ActivityPub, mas gostaria apenas de informar.

    @civodul @mikegerwitz @ArneBab @cwebber this is also one of the reasons for #PeerTube, #Mastodon and such like to be almost absent in most #Distribution's that follow the #GNU #FSDG, in summary:

    Following the dependency graphs of these things, the learning curve to understand package schemes, the fact that none of the repositories commit to #FSDG, all this makes the #Distro's opt to remove per language-package manager.

    @Framasoft Suggestion for both #JoinMastodon and #JoinPeerTube:

    Please make it so that the website suggests less populated instances first and displays a big warning against fostering big instances. This avoids what #WhatsApp and #Google did (see https://libreplanet.org/wiki/XMPP ), where both started as #XMPP providers but once they became big enough, they closed doors.

    @null0x0 This is why I prefer #FressSoftware and #Federated and solutions that follow international #Standards, software such as #PeerTube. Although this doesn't solve the issue of monetization, it will if combined with both #SnowDrift / #SnowDriftCoop and #GNUTaler / #GNU #Taler .

    @peertube now has a plugin to use shared instance blocklists: https://framagit.org/framasoft/peertube/official-plugins/-/tree/master/peertube-plugin-auto-mute
    (Another plugin is also available for shared video blocklists.)

    Wondering if there should also be the option to use “passlists” instead, to not be automatically exposed to new abusive instances...

    The next period of development is focused on moderation tools. Hopefully this is a significant step towards making it easier to keep the fash away.

    si, @skrlet13 ya hay mucas intactas de #peertube muy buenas y otras posibilidades y la monetizacion por youtube ya o es viable para la mayoría, por otro lado, si es tu medio de trabajo o negocio, deberías tranquilamente tener tu propia instancia de peertube o pagarle alguna para que te aloje , si piensas que gafam te va a permitir realmente sacar ganancias sin invertir prepara la vaselina :)

    @abdhessuk @pinkhole Monetizar (cosa que quines pretenden dedicarse a tiempo completo a producir contenidos merecen) y hacerlo fuera del capitalismo es muy complicado, pero plataformas como #peertube que funcionalmente ya hab superado a #youtube ya tenemos, solo que hay un mito de que solo por publicar en #youtube ya te ve más gente y como la mitología es cosa de fe no hay con que darle.

    ActivityPub can be confusing and/or hard to test or develop against.

    I started a new side project called FediDB to help Pixelfed and other implementations debug federation issues.

    It will be launching soon, need to test DMs and Federated Stories in Pixelfed 😅

    I'm eager to work with other projects on this!
