We have been testing remote follows and will be releasing a huge update very soon.

You will be able to remote follow a supported account (Pixelfed, Pleroma, Mastodon) on another instance. You will see remote posts in your Home Timeline.

The Network Timeline and support for other ActivityPub implementations will follow.

I've decided to delete pixelfed.nl. I will probably reinstall it on a subdomain in the near future, but it's not my future main project I had in mind.

The reason is that it just takes to long that #Pixelfed is ready for production. I'm still waiting for Pixelfed-to-Pixelfed-federation. In my opinion a #1 priority. Also other things are still not ready yet (like fullscreen images and deleting accounts). Of course I can wait longer for all this, but 6 months ago I already was at this point. So it's over. I have no patience anymore. It also costs me money and before I can ask for donations the service needs more people, but I only want to open registrations when Pixelfed-to-Pixelfed-federation is ready (the chicken and the egg).

We are considering a Kickstarter campaign to sustain full time development of Pixelfed for another year! #pixelfed
