    You can avoid #YouTube's weird algorithms and broken subscription system by subscribing to channels through RSS instead. You don't need an account, just a feed reader.

    Put the channel's username in this address:

    https://www.youtube.com/feeds/videos.xml?user=USERNAME

    You can then add this RSS address to your feed reader app.

    For example, OnePotChefShow's RSS feed is:

    https://www.youtube.com/feeds/videos.xml?user=OnePotChefShow

    You can also make RSS feeds from channel IDs (strings of letters and numbers):

    Y ahora quieren regresar el formato o método #rss para leer noticias, ahora se acuerdan cuando las cosas se complican y queda todo a llibre albedrío que ya no gusta ni convence a nadie.

    Pues sí, estaba buscando maneras de asociar el feed #rss de los commits de git con #gnusocial. Me quedé con el script gnusrss de @drymer pero utilizando una pequeña modificación que hizo @diazestein /to @cr0n0s /cc @galipesc !p4g !bobinas !gnusocial

    Facebook canceló hace años la funcionalidad de #RSS. Google canceló la compatibilidad de Hangouts con #XMPP. No les interesan los estándares abiertos. No quieren participar en la cultura digital abierta. No quieren interconectarse, ni que todos podamos acceder a la información que todos generamos. De hecho, están en contra. Su objetivo es maximizar su mercado excluyendo el de los demás, evitando únicamente lo que pueda dañar su imagen pública en un determinado momento... ante un público desinformado. No es (solo) una estrategia empresarial: es política y poder. En diez años hemos pasado de interconexión y aperturismo a jaulas doradas y dictaduras monopólicas. La buena noticia es que evitarlo está en nuestras manos (todavía). ¿Por qué no lo hacemos?
