I've recently read how the #Tor and #Debian teams take the #security of software distribution very seriously. Truly amazing stuff.

Great to see how Mullvad, a private #VPN company, and Tor are teaming up to make more secure and private tools for everyone.

* Turn Off Bluetooth (use headphone jack if possible)

* Don't overshare perm mac & Turn Off WiFi w/not in use (wipri -w does both automatically for #linux / linux phones - phone apps exist)

* Use #Tor / #I2P - Hidden Services w/Possible (e2ee) - detach ID

* Use Frontends For Searching Big Tech (ex: #Whoogle, #Invidious, #nitter)

* Compartmentalize (container, profiles, sandbox)

Pro-tip for admins: Enable users to access your resources through #anonymization networks.

The wider the use of #Anonymity tools, the more effective they get. Some use them for normal #privacy, others to stay alive.

@torproject Will the upcoming WhatsApp support channel for #Tor at least be bridged to #Matrix? It would be nice if those who have privacy concerns but still need help could use a safer protocol/platform.

Hey all! I just joined the fediverse and found that it's a nice thing to start with an #introduction.

My name is Nico Alt, you might don't know me but if you do, it's most probably due to the stuff I did at #Briar and #FDroid. Why is #Cloudflare bad?

They sit between the user and 33% of websites[1] now, where they:

a) get to decide who is served content and who isn't,
b) decrypt https traffic and see its contents.

People on dynamic IPs, public WiFi and #Tor users are the main groups affected by (a).
