What bugs me the most, is that Cliqz is a "search recommendations" service.
Which means they wanna filter my search results now? Is it about advertising revenue?
Too easy to exploit and turn into a #censorship machine, imo

the strategy i'm using for app platform development (#relax) is to wrap #web and #react #native libraries in #clojure (a lot of which has been done for me already) and wrapping that bit in #grid packages . this is just to get us off the ground. over time we can replace the #javascript components and native bindings with #clojure; once we are running 100% #clojure we can work on getting the whole thing to compile with #ferret and get access to multiple cores and g++ optimizations.

@h implied that we was talking about web replacements by saying that SSB wasn't one. I'm confused, but also disagree: you can totally make a #web with a bunch of replicated logs and links between them (which are already support) in terms of applications #patchwork is made of webshit so they're about equal there except that #SSB has a brighter future because it isn't chained to a browser.

You know, I have zero objection to "Smart" devices that all interconnect with each other, like you see in Iron Man or The Expanse - provided it's all made with #FreeSoftware / #FOSS / #FLOSS / #opensource ... AND ... I can keep things like my car or door locks completely disconnected from the #web . #Apple and/or #Microshit and/or #google do NOT need my fingerprint, or my voiceprint, or my eyeball scan, or my IMEI number, or any of that stuff. Not Ever.
