Bolsonaro wants to burn the rainforest and murder indigenous folks who've lived there for generations. Duterte's extrajudicial killings of journalists / dissidents is terrifying. Putin wants complete control (to wall off the internet even) and poison anyone who gets in his way

PACER (Public Access to Court Electronic Records) is an aggressively terrible system for document search and retrieval.

Gee, it's almost like the US government has no interest in making access to public records free or remotely usable 🤔

For absolutely no critical reason I'm working on a #gopher client / server written with #ruby and #ncurses. There are tons of solid projects out there, but wanted to learn about the protocol and work more with networking / command line UI design.

The emojis are cute as fuck honestly, but I need to figure out how to get ASCII strings to play nicely with UTF-8

Having lots of fun. For those unfamiliar, gopher is the plaintext net w/o the frills and pomp of HTTP - emphasis on content :P
