    @Wolf480pl

Hard to compare that, without trying to replicate the same result with another toolkit.

For what it's wort it uses a little less memory than tootle, but it's hard to tell because tootle doesn't want to run for more than 20 seconds without crashing here 😆

I admit this is a bit hidden inside the bindings' wiki I linked to, but this should solve your issue:

    sudo apt-get -y install libqt*5-dev qt*5-dev

You probably didn't follow the install instructions for the Qt bindings I linked to. You need to install the Qt5 dev packages.

Just checking: you did set QT_PKG_CONFIG to true, right?

    Which distro is this on?

@clarjon1 I will once there's an API for that! Sadly currently there's nothing I can do but guess. Could probably make it configurable in the meantime.

@clarjon1 I fear those are issues with Pleroma's API compatibility layer. I'll probably have to install it myself to try it out.

I was thinking about it, but therecipe/qt makes it sound like there are still issues in combination with Go modules.

And of course that still wouldn't solve the issue of people not having the Qt5-dev packages installed.

Yeah, sounds like you're missing the Qt5 packages. There are install instructions linked to from the README.

I guess that depends a bit on your point of view: yes, Qt is probably the most complete toolkit out there, so naturally it's also the biggest one.

But that doesn't mean your application uses & depends on all of these libraries. So clearly there's a distinction between lightweight at build- & at run-time.

When it comes to run-time, I think the claim is pretty accurate for Telephant.

    The binding's wiki recommends: sudo apt-get -y install libqt*5-dev qt*5-dev

That seems a bit excessive to me, but I'm afraid I can't verify it until I setup my Ubuntu VM again.

@Canageek Indeed, much less than my average Mastodon tab in either Firefox or Chrome!

You can open two copies at once, even though they would currently overwrite each other's configuration when you close the app. I could at least add a command line parameter so you can specify a config file yourself.

Can probably be stripped down quite a bit, but at the moment I'd recommend:

    qt5-base qt5-tools qt5-declarative qt5-imageformats qt5-network qt5-dbus qt5-quickcontrols2 qt5-multimedia qt5-xml qt5-svg
