Somewhere between 0.1mm and 0.2mm is what I usually go for. Depends a tiny bit on your filament and general bed adhesion, too, but that's the ballpark figure.

Yeah, bed leveling can be tricky 😆

Unless you wanna pick up a sensor, I can highly recommend getting a cheap feeler gauge, which makes it a lot easier to consistently level your bed.

About 50-50 I'd say. I did (custom) cases for electronics, lampshades, replacement parts like keyboard feet and so on...

Bog standard brass nozzle. It's coping with the filament just fine so far. We'll see if it's affecting its diameter, but I guess I may replace it sooner than later either way.

Printers usually don't read STL files directly. That's the job of a slicer program, which then turns it into (more or less machine and user setting specific) G-codes, which will be used to control the printer.

It's PLA with up to 30% (or so they claim, I have no way to verify that obviously) sawdust. It gives off a nice smell, not unlike poker-work, while printing.
