    @Wolf480pl

The boundaries seem blurry here. Another [Contributor] closed the issue. They seem to officially work on the project.

Either way, I find this rather worrying. It excludes pretty much everyone except the core team from contributing to the project. How am I going to test my changes if I can't self-compile the project?

...and of course, running pre-compiled binaries as a user is an absolute no-go (for me anyways).

Ultimaker's idea of open source software development:

"run Cura's pre-compiled AppImage binaries or it will crash, and that's just fine"

    https://github.com/Ultimaker/Cura/issues/5488

Way to go if you want to make sure your software gets excluded by distributions.

There should be a place with over-sized couches, tables and chairs, where adults can go and play "The Floor is Lava" together.

I can't be the only one who's missing this game?

Went to the hardware store, picked up some M4 screws from the same shelf as always, paid and went home again to finish my build.

Now I opened the package and just realized I bought the wrong type of screws ๐Ÿคฆ

On the plus side: another trip to the hardware store, yaaaay!

At least informally it is. People adopted that name pretty quickly, though.

I'm not sure if that's really an oversight or rather quite intentional.

For any program where energy consumption actually matters, the development time most likely makes up for the tiniest fraction of their consumption. After all we're talking about processes that get deployed not only on hundreds or thousands of machines, but literally millions of devices.

Amazon delivery just called me on my phone, and when I picked up and said "Hello?" they hung up on me. Looked out the window and only saw their van driving away. They didn't ring at the door or leave a note either.

Called the Amazon support and asked them what all that was about and they promised to make the driver return with my parcel at the end of his shift.

...and he really just showed up.

I'm still a bit confused by all that, but alas, at least I got that package before the weekend!

Microsoft's eBook store is shutting down and with it all your books will disappear, too.

Just a reminder to be cautious when purchasing digital goods (and the reason why I still prefer to buy my games on disc and books in paper).

    Home-made drone:

Laser-cut wood as a frame, Arduino as a flight controller, gyroscope from a Wii controller.

The rest is off-the-shelf: motors, ESC controllers, RC equipment.
