I have been eating out of a stainless steel bowl lately and I'm not quite sure why but I get a kick out of it.

I didn't know it was so easy to access the Android filesystem over USB. You just have to pick "filesystem" from the menu on the phone after you plug it in.

@codewiz and the same to you, of course. It's just frustrating because you're really close to the JBL/KRK/whatever range in price and there's really good sound at this level, and a lot of flexibility in how you use the gear. But it's complexity as well, of course.

@codewiz I wouldn't get them for myself, but for some people, the thrill of the deal is sweeter than the actual sound.

To be fair, I live in a very modest home and drive an old used car. I spend the difference in other areas of my life where I feel I get more utility.

@tagomago @codewiz I heard the KRKs at a bar. The sound was so impressive that it convinced me to finally get something. The JBL LSR series was new at the time and getting good reviews so that's what I got. They are still a thrill.

@codewiz I don't remember anything about usb audio switches πŸ˜…

Instead of the big knob you might consider a plain old analog mixer for more connectivity and routing options https://www.amazon.com/Mackie-402VLZ4-4-channel-Compact-Quality/dp/B00EDRUQXC/ref=sr_1_1_sspa

Or look on craigslist. The best part about analog hardware is that an investment can last for decades.

@codewiz the low frequency effects channel is more for movies than music (snob warning)

The 5" JBLs go down to 49Hz and resonate down to 43Hz with the port. I'd be surprised if this wasn't enough to please you.

You could get something like this https://www.amazon.com/Mackie-Controller-2x2-KNOB-Passive/dp/B01NCUZ32O/ref=asc_df_B01NCUZ32O run the line out from your sound card to the line in on the big knob, then get a pair of 1/4" TRS cables from the big knob to the JBLs.

You are spending twice as much but it's going to sound 10x better.
