     @codewiz I love taking the bus in Los Angeles. Everyone was so polite thanking the driver when they got off!

     @kai In Japan, the bus driver thanks *every* *single* *passenger* as they get off. They wear a boom mic, so at every stop you can hear "ありがとうございます" over and over again even from the back seats 😳

     Next, I have to take the LAX airport shuttle. It's every 10 minutes, and also free.

     @sektor I hated the Caltrain last time I was in the bay area, and I heard that LA is a car-only city, so I was planning to buy a car soon after moving there...

     ...but so far I've been doing fine with a bicycle + public transit + an occasional rental car or car sharing.

     @codewiz I had the polar opposite experience when I had to take the bus to get to the train to finally end up in San Diego.

     Landed! I'm spending this Thanksgiving with some good friends who live in the Bay Area, all ex-coworkers.

     Google was like an extended family to me, and I'm staying in touch with Googlers from all the teams and offices where I worked over the past 10 years 🥲
